Anxiety
If you are experiencing anxiety you are not alone.
33% of people visiting their doctor have expressed their feelings of anxiety, and a similar percentage of the general population will develop a clinically significant anxiety disorder at some time in their life. (Barlow Ester and Vitali, 1998).
Studies have shown that many people who suffer with these symptoms will turn to alcohol or drug use or other behaviours to avoid feeling the anxiety. (Barlow, Ester and Vitali, 1998.) Studies have also shown that longer time psychotherapy feeds the nature of the problem. When applying short-term change processes utilizing NLP techniques you can gain back control over your state of being.
Prolonged anxiety is described in terms of symptoms such as:-
feeling restless
fatigued
irritable
suffering from muscle tension
being unable to concentrate or sleep
Acute anxiety leading to panic attacks can lead to even more profound responses such as:-
sweating
shaking
difficulty breathing
abdominal pain and nausea
dizziness
What I found so exciting about understanding my own anxiety was that it was “something I did” – not “who I was”. Yes, I was experiencing anxiety, but by being able to acknowledge the strategy behind all the “what ifs” I had been focusing on, I could also choose to not experience anxiety and see it as a cognitive state of apprehensive expectation. (Yapko, ed, 1989) points out that in order to act we make certain guesses about what will happen which have the potential to generate hope or fear, happiness or pain.
I can help to support you in putting an action plan into place that will change your life.
Possible steps include:
Re-framing the anxiety and symptoms
Enabling you to access resources and solutions
Learning new ways of relaxation through self-hypnosis
Altering your internal representation of anxiety
Creating more positive beliefs
Hypno-analysis is effective in uncovering what has occurred in the past that influences current feelings.
For long-term relief 4-6 sessions is recommended.
